Profile:
Carlton has extensive experience of Pre-hospital care and has an Honours degree in Emergency Care (University of Plymouth) and a Masters level post graduate diploma in Advanced Healthcare Practice (Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry).

He joined the NHS Ambulance service in 1986 and held various operational posts during his career; paramedic on ambulances, rapid response cars and paramedic motorcyclist. He also spent 10 years on the air ambulance as a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) paramedic.

Following his degree he has also worked as an out of hours practitioner for SERCO Health and has spent several years as an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) with his local ambulance service. In 2000 he was awarded the 'UK Paramedic of the year' award.
